CANCER IN THE SOUL José María Jiménez; Colombia
This work is based on street children, called homeless, its literary composition is part of the real life of these beings who for some reason preferred the street, transforming it into their home, some due to lack of affection, others due to mistreatment and many others. for the abandonment to which they were subjected by their parents. Among many other things; each of these beings has their own story and this can be one of many; The names that appear here are the product of the author's imagination, any resemblance to people is simply coincidental.
I was motivated to write this literary work, the silent voices of the young and elderly street children who in one way or another forged their own destiny: I know that many of them, the difficult situation they had to face forced them, others wanted to find in the streets what they did not have in their homes and others because they allowed themselves to be dragged away seeking to experience other sensations. But all of them, despite the way they live, are human beings like you and me and they also suffer, they are not immune to pain even though they are used to living in a harsh way between the cold of the nights, the winter rains and the burning sun of the summer, there in that world your son, your brother, your father and even your mother can be found, that is why I consider it important to write about these beings with the sole and healthy intention of awakening the sense of belonging of people, especially leaders and governments , so that they take measures and adopt policies that lead to improving the quality of life for these street dwellers and give them the opportunity to have a second chance to become part of the society that today has them excluded.
